Unfortunately, the package arrived beyond what I would consider 'damaged'. Both ends of the box were open and parts were sticking out. The box appeared to have been ripped open on both sides, and the top of the box had been opened as well. The top of the box had been retaped after opening and parts of the contents were exposed. It was evident that this was a returned product. Without attempting to open the disheveled mess, I emailed Amazon and my message went directly to the seller which included an explanation of the damage shopping with pictures to prove how it had arrived. I requested that the box be picked up and that a replacement be sent. I have never had an issue with Amazon in the past. I've used Amazon for years and I have had a few issues here and there where certain things have been damaged in the shipping process (slime gift had exploded, laundry detergent had leaked, dog food had a hole in the bag and had poured out into the box, etc) but anytime that I have had an issue over the years it was obviously due to elements beyond Amazon's control and was certainly not shipped the way that it had arrived. In the past, I have just taken a picture and they have picked the product up from my front porch and I received a replacement product within two days. Easy peasy. This was a much different experience. The seller responded to my message stating that they do not do scheduled pickups and that I would be given a prepaid return label that i could print, and would need to bring the product to a FedEx establishment and that rather than sending a replacement, I would receive a refund once they had received the damaged chair. anyone who has purchased the swinging chair, knows how extremely heavy and large it is. I explained that I have had two back surgeries and that not only can I physically not lift the box.... It literally will not fit in my car (I also just moved and do not currently have a printer to print a return label but that was besides the point). I asked again if they could please pick the box up and send a replacement. I was again informed that they do not send replacements, and that they only provide refunds once they have received the returned item and that they would not pick it up.Here's the deal... This was my child's big Christmas gift, the one that I knew would light her face up and have her jumping up and down. Even if I could lift it (which I absolutely could not).... There is no possible way that I would have been able to carry it to my car (which it won't fit in), take it to a FedEx location, unload it and carry it into the FedEx, and have it arrive back in time to get a full refund, reorder the chair, and have it redelivered in time for Christmas. So I had no choice except to keep the damage product and work with what I had.I was able to get it out and put it together piece by piece. I won't lie, it was pretty easy to put together and the wicker egg itself folds up so it is easy to transport. There was damage to the metal legs but I was able to make it work so that unless my daughter gets up close to inspect, or turns it over, she will not notice it. The chair itself is beautiful and very sturdy and extremely comfortable. I would buy this chair a hundred times over to get the reaction that I got when she came into her room on Christmas Eve and saw it in the corner. But.. I would not buy from this seller again. If I had not been able to put that chair together because of the damage, then I would have been out a lot of money because it is physically impossible for some people (like myself) to be able to pick that up, transport it, and return it.So just be aware when buying this.... It's an awesome chair, but you are completely responsible for getting it back to them if they ship you a used or damaged chair, and you will not receive a replacement, just a refund to reorder it if you choose.We received this chair broken, which is not necessary the sellers fault. It could have happened during shipping. I wrote to the company to find out what could be done. At first they replied that they did not have anything to send me to fix the chair. This being a 300.00 chair, I do not want to have it on my patio looking like this, it ruins the look of the entire chair. After another email the seller did refund the entire cost of the chair! This was actually more than we expected for the seller to do and we are extremely pleased. So with this being said, we will order another chair and hopefully it will arrive in tact! We did sit in the chair and it is extremely study and comfortable. A BIG BIG Thank you! to the seller for making this right!Purchased this swing for my husband for a retirement gift a couple months ago.Assembly: Very easy to assemble. Trust me when I say that because my husband is not a fixer upper/contractor guy. We had it assembled in about 20 minutes.Sturdiness: I chose this swing for size and sturdiness. The wicker/ratan type material appears and feels very sturdy and strong. Holds up well when sat in. My spouse if 6’ tall and weighs around 220. And this chair holds up well when sat in.Comfort: The cushion is great and comfy.The only downside to this chair is the upper part pushes your head forward a tad making it a bit uncomfortable. If the manufacture would adjust the upper part of the chair to curve back a little this chair would be perfect!*Would be great if the cushions were offered in other colors. It is just a matter of time before the white/cream stains.Price: I found this swinging chair during a sale and gave around $300. I find the price I gave very affordable and a great find!I would recommend this swing to others.Large chair with very sturdy underpinnings and heavy duty hanging spring plus chain.Included cushion is also large; could be better with a bit more padding effect. Long legsprovide excellent stability, but take up a lot of deck space and become a major trip hazardwhen sunlight fades.we love it! well made and looks great! Thank you!I love it! It’s sturdy and comfortable and was really easy to put together. My only complaint is the strip that was wrapped around the outside of the chair was undone and falling off, but we’re just going to take it off.Purchased this for my daughters room. It’s comfortable, but the seating area is not as plentiful as some we looked at in person. And one of the ropes in the back of the chair was stretched too much and was not as taut as the others. Stood out and looked like a malfunction.
