9” Pacific BlueThis umbrella uses a manual system for opening up the umbrella versus a crank system. It is infinitely easier and more convenient to use than a crank. It is well worth the $70 increase in price. The color of the umbrella is gorgeous and it clearly is genuine Sunbrella fabric. I do not understand why California umbrella does not use the pulley system used on the 11 inch umbrella on the 9 inch umbrella, but I guess it’s just a cost issue. I had the previous iteration of the 9 inch umbrella with the pulley system and it was definitely easier on the back and more elegant. Nonetheless you cannot go wrong with this umbrella which is from one of the oldest companies in the umbrella business.
